Citywide COVID-19 Vaccine Waitlist Updated with New Eligibility Criteria
NEW ORLEANS — In conjunction with Governor John Bel Edwards' announcement expanding COVID-19 vaccine eligibility to people 16 years of age and older with certain health conditions, the City of New Orleans has updated the Citywide Vaccine Waitlist registration to reflect the new criteria.
This afternoon, the roughly 10,000 individuals who were previously ineligible will be contacted and asked to update their registration to determine if they are newly eligible under the expanded criteria announced by the Governor today. The Orleans Parish Communication District (New Orleans 9-1-1/3-1-1) will continue to connect eligible waitlist members to vaccine appointments, whether at the Convention Center, at a New Orleans Health Department vaccine site, or with another vaccine provider in Orleans Parish. To register for the waitlist, go to ready.nola.gov/getvaccine or call 3-1-1 (504-658-2299). If you are on the waitlist but already received your vaccine, please call 3-1-1 to be removed.
Vaccine operations remain ongoing in Orleans Parish, where dozens of providers are offering all three approved vaccines by appointment only. New Orleans Emergency Medical Services also continue to administer vaccine in the homes of residents who are homebound. Homebound means anyone who is unable to get to a vaccination site due to mobility or medical issues. A person is not considered homebound solely because of transportation needs. The New Orleans Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Preparedness will continue to recruit, train, and manage NOLA Ready volunteers who are supporting in non-medical roles at vaccine sites around the city. In the past few weeks, hundreds of NOLA Ready Volunteers have spent nearly 4,000 hours working on vaccine efforts, including staffing vaccine sites, making appointments for residents at the 3-1-1 call center, and helping with community outreach.
