City of New Orleans Lists Over 170 New Adjudicated Properties for Sale

NEW ORLEANS -- Today at noon, the City of New Orleans will list over 170 new adjudicated properties available for sale at These properties were adjudicated to the City due to unpaid property taxes. The properties went unsold at tax sale and in many cases have been off the tax rolls for years, not generating annual tax revenues for the City.

NEW ORLEANS – Today, the New Orleans Health Department’s Fit NOLA initiative, Whole Foods Market New Orleans and Rock and Roll NOLA announced Alexandra Marie Jones as the recipient of the September 2016 Healthy Hero award. Mayor Landrieu, City Officials Remind Residents New Flood Insurance Rates Going Into Effect

NEW ORLEANS – Today, Mayor Landrieu and City officials reminded residents that new flood insurance rates are going into effect on Sept. 30, 2016. More than 53 percent of all properties in New Orleans were removed from Special Flood Hazard Areas (“A” zones) and as a result, will benefit from more affordable flood insurance.

Mayor Landrieu, City Officials to Remind Residents of Updates to New FEMA Flood Insurance Rate Maps that Go into Effect this Week

NEW ORLEANS –TOMORROW, September 27, 2016, Mayor Mitch Landrieu will join City Officials to remind residents of the updates to the new FEMA flood insurance rates that go into effect for New Orleans this Friday, Sept. 30, 2016. The new FEMA Flood Insurance Rate Maps (FIRMs) are available online where residents can view information about their property by navigating to their state, parish and local address.

Mayor Landrieu to Give Welcome Remarks at WEFTEC 2016

NEW ORLEANS – TOMORROW, Mayor Mitch Landrieu will give welcome remarks at the opening session of WEFTEC 2016, the Water Environment Federation’s 89th Annual Technical Exhibition and Conference being held Sept. 24-28, 2016 at the New Orleans Morial Convention Center. WEFTEC, which includes more than 20,000 participants, is the world’s largest annual water quality event and provides the latest developments, technologies and services for water preservation, restoration and sustainability.

City to Host Ninth Annual WEF Community Service Project

NEW ORLEANS – TOMORROW, City officials will join members of the Water Environment Federation and more than one hundred volunteers to construct bioswales on the grounds of City Hall to help capture and filter stormwater runoff as part of the Ninth Annual WEF Community Service Project. This project is in conjunction with WEFTEC 2016, the Water Environment Federation’s 89th Annual Technical Exhibition and Conference, which is being held Sept. 24-28, 2016 in New Orleans.
