City's Neighborhood Engagement Office to host second annual New Orleans Neighborhood Summit

October 31, 2013

NEW ORLEANS, LA – The City of New Orleans Neighborhood Engagement Office will host the second annual New Orleans Neighborhood Summit on Saturday, November 16, 2013, from 9am to 4pm. The one-day professional development conference for community leaders and members of Orleans Parish will be held in the UNO Lindy C. Boggs International Conference Center at 2045 Lakeshore Drive.

“The New Orleans Neighborhood Summit is an opportunity to empower residents to take leadership roles within their neighborhoods,” said Mayor Mitch Landrieu. “Our community has a greater chance of building a stronger foundation when citizens are partnering with local government and are engaged through ongoing dialogue and participation.”

The theme of this year’s Summit, Working Strategically with Government, seeks to empower residents with skills to improve the quality of life within their communities and provide a platform for building stronger relationships between neighbors, community partners and local government. Residents at the summit will participate in neighborhood building workshops, panel discussions and engage one-on-one with non-profit leaders, city and community representatives.

To register for the summit visit to complete the registration form online or contact the Mayor’s Neighborhood Engagement Office at (504) 658-4980 for more information.
