City’s partner, Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Businesses announces application deadline

November 13, 2013

NEW ORLEANS, LA–The City’s partner, Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Businesses program at Delgado Community College announced the application deadline for the 2014 class. The schedule features the new Emerging & Early Stage Businesses class designed for early stage business owners in operation for at least one year, with annual revenue in excess of $25,000 and at least one employee. The application deadline is December 2 and the early stage class begins in February.

Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Businesses is a best-in class education program that offers small business owners the opportunity and the building blocks to a practical business education.  The curriculum concentrates on developing skills that have an immediate impact in business growth. Since 2010, over 200 small businesses graduated from the Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Businesses education program at Delgado Community College and received access to capital from Hope Enterprise Credit Union.

“My experience in 10,000 Small Businesses gave me the tools to clearly examine my business, said Barrett Wiley, Cleaning Concierge, LLC owner. “I now focus on strategy and vision instead of just working on putting out fires. I know the right questions to ask about my business, where to look for answers and how to use that information to make smart decisions.” Cleaning Concierge, LLC increased revenue by 66% and hired nine new employees after graduating from the program in October 2012.
