Boil water advisory lifted for limited area of Venetian Isles

December 20, 2013

NEW ORLEANS, LA – The Sewerage and Water Board of New Orleans, in conjunction with the State Department of Health and Hospitals (DHH) has lifted the boil water advisory for residents and businesses in a limited area of Venetian Isles.

The advisory is lifted because bacteriological tests confirmed that water in the area is safe to drink and can be used as normal for personal needs.

With the advisory lifted, residents and businesses are advised to flush their internal and external plumbing by running water through their systems for several minutes.

The advisory was issued when water pressure levels dropped below regulatory standards after a contractor working in the area broke the water line.
