Boil Water Advisory for NOLA East Bank

The Sewerage & Water Board issued a precautionary boil water advisory for the East bank of New Orleans, including the Lower 9th Ward and New Orleans East, due to a drop in water pressure.

City announces Mardi Gras trash collection schedule

NEW ORLEANS, LA – Today, the City of New Orleans announced there will be no garbage or recycling collection on Mardi Gras Day, Tuesday, March 4, 2014 for residents serviced under the City’s contract with Richard’s Disposal and Metro Disposal. Garbage and recycling collections in these service areas will resume on the next regularly scheduled days for those services.

There will be regular garbage collections for accounts in the French Quarter and the Downtown Development District serviced by Progressive Waste Solutions (formerly SDT) under the City’s contract on Mardi Gras Day; however, there will be no recycling collection on Mardi Gras Day in these areas.  Curbside recycling in the French Quarter and the Downtown Development District will resume on Tuesday, March 11, 2014.
