NEW ORLEANS – Today, the City of New Orleans issued parking instructions and reminders in advance of the events scheduled for Saturday, Nov. 4. Throughout these events, the public is encouraged to be patient and prepared for delays by making transportation arrangements accordingly.
Crescent City Fall Classic
At 8:30 a.m., the 3.1-mile Crescent City Fall Classic course will start on Gold Drive, within City Park. Runners will continue on to Friedrichs Avenue, passing the City Park Festival Grounds and Christian Brothers School before bearing a right onto Wisner Boulevard. Runners will pass the front of the park on Wisner Boulevard to City Park Avenue where they will continue, re-entering the park at Anseman Avenue. Runners take a right onto Dreyfous Avenue, passing by the Great Lawn, City Putt and Morning Call. Runners will continue on to Lelong Drive where they will circle the New Orleans Museum of Art and continue down Roosevelt Mall. The course wraps around Palm Drive and finishes on the Practice Track, inside of Park.
Central City Festival
On Saturday, Nov. 4, from 11 a.m. – 6 p.m., Oretha Castle Haley Boulevard will be closed between Terpsichore Street and Felicity Street for the Central City Festival. Additionally, Euterpe Street between St. Rampart Street and Baronne Street and Terpsichore Street between S. Rampart Street and Baronne Street will be closed throughout the event.
Parking enforcement personnel will be monitoring for illegal parking, including blocking hydrants, driveways and sidewalks, or parking within 20 feet of a crosswalk, intersection or stop signs. Motorists are also reminded to park in the direction of travel on one-way streets, and with the right wheel to the curb on two-way streets.
