NEW ORLEANS – Today, the City of New Orleans issued parking instructions and reminders in advance the Oak Street Po-Boy Festival, taking place Sunday, Nov. 12, 2017. The public is encouraged to be patient and to prepare for heavy vehicular and pedestrian traffic in the specified areas by making transportation arrangements accordingly.
On Sunday, Nov. 22, 2015 from 8:30 a.m. to 10 p.m., Oak Street will be closed from South Carrollton Avenue to Leake Avenue for the Oak Street Po-Boy Festival. Due to limited parking in the area, the public is encouraged to use public transportation, cabs or bicycles when traveling to this area. As a reminder, parking is prohibited on the railroad tracks along Leake Avenue, and any violators will be towed.
Parking enforcement personnel will be monitoring for illegal parking, including blocking hydrants, driveways and sidewalks, or parking within 20 feet of a crosswalk, intersection or stop signs. Motorists are also reminded to park in the direction of travel on one-way streets, and with the right wheel to the curb on two-way streets.
In addition, RTA services, including bus service may be interrupted during these events. Details on route changes are available at www.norta.com.
