NEW ORLEANS- On Tuesday, Dec. 5, 2017, Mayor Mitch Landrieu, in partnership with Social Bicycles and title sponsor Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Louisiana, will celebrate the launch of Blue Bikes, the city’s new bike share program. Tuesday, bike stations will begin to go online in New Orleans and details about the rollout will be revealed at the press conference that will kick off with a celebratory caravan of riders pedaling down the Lafitte Greenway on the Blue Bikes. Members of the media are welcome to follow the bikes as they arrive at the press conference location. Any member of the press wishing to ride on a Blue Bike with the caravan must RSVP with the media contact in advance.
