NEW ORLEANS — On Wednesday, Jan 10, 2018 beginning at 7 a.m., the City of New Orleans construction contractor, Command Construction Industries, LLC, will temporarily reduce traffic flow on Old Hammond Highway between Roy and Derbes Streets from two travel lanes to one travel lane to accommodate construction of the Fleur De Lis Drive project. The travel lane reduction will last for approximately two weeks. Public safety is our top priority; residents and commuters are reminded to use caution when driving, bicycling and walking near this construction site.
During the travel lane reduction, crews will build a new manhole and connect a new water line that has been installed on Fleur De Lis Drive. Additionally, crews are placing new concrete pavement on Fleur de Lis Drive from Old Hammond Highway to Stafford Place this week. The reconstruction project is on schedule to be completed by summer 2018.
The $12 million Fleur de Lis Drive reconstruction project calls for removing and replacing existing water, sewer and drainage lines, repaving the roadway in concrete, installing new sidewalks and installing Americans with Disabilities Act-compliant curb ramps at intersections.
For questions and/or concerns about the project, please contact RoadworkNOLA at (504) 658-ROAD or e-mail email@example.com.
