NEW ORLEANS – Today, the City of New Orleans announced it will add a fourth debris pass for residential properties from Thursday, Mar. 2 to Sunday, Mar. 5 in the New Orleans East tornado recovery effort. This will allow residents additional time to complete clearing debris from their properties.

Uptown and Carrollton Neighborhoods to Become New Orleans Historic District Landmarks Commission Members

NEW ORLEANS—On March 1, 2017, the neighborhoods of Uptown and Carrolton will leave the Neighborhood Conservation District Advisory Committee (NCDAC) and become members of the New Orleans Historic District Landmarks Commission (NOHDLC). The NCDAC advises the City Council who rules on proposed demolitions within the NCDAC boundaries.

City Announces Bike Share Preview Extension

NEW ORLEANS — TODAY, the City of New Orleans, in conjunction with Social Bicycles Inc. (SoBi), announced it will extend the preview of the City’s bike share program through March 31. The initial preview was a success and yielded positive results in a short time period. From Feb. 13 to Feb. 23, 128 riders took 235 unique trips. Over 500 miles were biked with a two mile average trip distance.

NEW ORLEANS—Tomorrow, Mayor Mitch Landrieu will visit CrescentCare Community Health Center as part of the US Conference of Mayors’ National Healthcare Day of Action. During the visit, the Mayor will meet Noel Twilbeck, CEO, and other representatives from CrescentCare Community Health Center to discuss the detrimental impact repealing the Affordable Care Act will have on New Orleans residents.

Parking Instructions and Traffic Restrictions in Advance of 2017 Mardi Gras Celebrations

NEW ORLEANS — Today, the City of New Orleans issued parking instructions and reminders in advance of Mardi Gras celebrations in the French Quarter and the Krewe of Endymion parade this upcoming weekend. The City encourages the public to be patient and prepared for heavy vehicular and pedestrian traffic in the specified areas and to make transportation arrangements accordingly.
