City Announces Meetings on Proposed Historic Districts

NEW ORLEANS – Today, the City of New Orleans announced the schedule for the Historic District Landmarks Commission Study Committee meetings for Uptown/Carrollton and Mid City/Parkview. The Uptown/Carrollton and Mid City/Parkview Study Committees will meet to discuss the boundaries, levels of jurisdiction and surveys for the proposed historic districts.

City of New Orleans to Hold Abandoned Vehicle Auction

NEW ORLEANS – On Tuesday, Feb. 16, 2016 the City of New Orleans Department of Public Works will hold its first abandoned vehicle auction of 2016. The auction, located at Almonaster Auto Pound, 10200 Almonaster Avenue, will begin at 9 a.m. Vehicle preview day and buyer registration is Monday, Feb. 15, 2016, from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m. No one will be admitted after 3:30 p.m. for security reasons.

City Health Department Adds Pharmacy to Standing Order for Drug to Reverse Effects of Heroin Overdose

NEW ORLEANS — The City of New Orleans Health Department (NOHD) announced another pharmacy location where people in New Orleans can purchase the drug Naloxone, which reverses the effects of a heroin or opiate overdose, over-the-counter through the standing order without a separate prescription. Naloxone, commonly referred to as Narcan, is now available at the Crescent City Pharmacy at 2240 Simon Bolivar Ave. in addition to the UMC Outpatient Pharmacy at 2000 Canal St.
