Home » Mosquito, Termite and Rodent Control Board » Nuisance Wildlife Removal
Mosquito, Termite and Rodent Control Board inspectors are not licensed to handle nuisance animals.
For assistance removing alligators call the Louisiana Wildlife and Fisheries at 1-800-422-2511.
The New Orleans Mosquito & Termite Control Board no longer collects and submits birds for West Nile virus testing. To dispose of a dead bird, place in a double plastic bag and dispose of it in your regular household trash. Always use disposable gloves or an inverted plastic bags to pick up the bird. If the bird is alive, citizens can speak to a biologist by calling (504) 658-2400.
Citizens can search online or in the phone book for Nuisance Wildlife Control Operators (NWCO) licensed by the state. These independent operators charge a fee for their services and the fees are not regulated by the state.
