NOPD Investigating A Fatality In The Milan Neighborhood

The New Orleans Police Department’s Fatality Section is investigating a fatality that left a 61-year-old man dead.  The incident occurred at approximately7:19 P.M., eastbound on South Claiborne Avenue at General Taylor Street.  

The man was crossing Claiborne Avenue when he was struck by a red Impala driven by a 17-year-old woman.  

The man died on the scene. 

The driver of the Impala was not injured in the incident.     

No charges have been filed and the incident remains under investigation. 

Blood and alcohol tests are pending and the Orleans Parish Coroner will conduct an autopsy to determine the exact cause of death. 

Fatality Investigator Anthony Pontiff, is in charge of the investigation.
