Car Crash Claims The Life Of An Unidentified Man In The Saint Claude Neighborhood

This morning members of the New Orleans Police Department’s Fatality Unit are investigating a car accident that left unidentified man dead in the Saint Claude Neighborhood.  The accident occurred at approximately 12:50 A.M., at the intersection of Saint Claude and Poland Avenues.     

A 28-year-old man was driving a white colored Ford Taurus Northbound on Polland Avenue.  An unknown man was driving a black Chrysler 300 Westbound on Saint Claude Avenue.  Both vehicles collided and the Chrysler struck a pole. 

The unknown man died on the scene.  The 28-year-old man is listed in stable condition at the hospital.     

No citations have been issued and the investigating is ongoing.  

Blood and alcohol tests are pending and the Orleans Parish Coroner will conduct an autopsy to determine the exact cause of death.
