Car Crash In New Orleans East Claims The Life Of A 35-Year-Old Man

This morning members of the New Orleans Police Department’s Fatality Unit are investigating a car accident that left a 35-year-old man dead in New Orleans East.  The name of the man is being withheld pending notification of family members.  The accident occurred at approximately 6:25 A.M., on I-10 Westbound near Irish Bayou.       

A 35-year-old man was driving a dark colored Dodge Intrepid Eastbound on I-10 when for reason unknown lost control of his vehicle.  He went across the median and struck a dark colored Nissan Juke traveling Westbound on the I-10 driven by a 61-year-old man.

The 35-year-old man died at the hospital and the 61-year-old man is listed in stable condition.      

Blood and alcohol tests are pending and the Orleans Parish Coroner will conduct an autopsy to determine the exact cause of death.
