Winter Weather, Jan. 12-18

The National Weather Service forecasts freezing temperatures in the New Orleans area beginning Friday, Jan. 12 through Thursday, Jan. 18. A mix of very light wintry precipitation is possible in the evening of Tuesday, Jan. 16, but no accumulation is anticipated. Residents and visitors are advised to take precautions during winter weather.

NOPD Looking for Man Who Robbed Waffle House on Read Boulevard

NEW ORLEANS – The NOPD is looking to identify a suspect who robbed a Waffle House in the 5800 block of Read Boulevard.

The incident happened on September 26, 2016. At about 10:38 p.m., an unknown male was seen entering the Waffle House in area. The subject then asked the cashier to give him change for a $1 bill. When the cashier opened the cash register, the subject then reached over the counter and grabbed a handful of money from the register. While the cashier struggled to hold the register, the suspect then took the change that fell on the floor. He was then seen running out of the restaurant in an unknown direction.
