The standard current fee structure is as follows:
Holidays, as recognized by the City, will be paid at a minimum at Tier 3. This premium applies to all officers, regardless of rank, and does not incur any additional administrative fee. The full amount will be passed on to officers as an increase in pay on those days. Holidays and days of High Demand include: New Year's Day, Martin Luther King's Birthday, Lundi Gras, Mardi Gras, Good Friday, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Juneteenth, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, Friday after Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas, and New Year's Eve.
Motorcycle Escorts
A motorcycle escort is designed to ensure that people or transports are moved safely and quickly from one location to another. NOPD motorcycle officers are concerned with the safe movement of the vehicles being escorted, the safety of the motoring public, and finally the safety of the other officers providing the escort.
The escort could be as simple as placing one or two motorcycles in front of a vehicle, or as complicated as escorting a large vehicle funeral procession.
Parades and Second Lines
NOPD Officers are the best in the world at providing parade security. Living and working within our unique culture of brass bands, masking and social aid and pleasure clubs prepared officers to escort large traveling parties throughout the city's busy streets.
Mounted Division
The Mounted Division has been a crucial aid in deterring and stopping criminal activity in our city. Both our police and equine officers all undergo thousands of hours of training before they are used in the community. Mounted officers provide great security for large outdoor events and allow officers to gain a great vantage point to see and deter crime.
Canine
The NOPD Canine Units are used to sniff out any explosives or bombs. Trained NOPD canine handlers also advise customers on bomb security measures.
Boat and Rescue
The NOPD also provides security and search teams for waterways.
*Currently, those customers who schedule 100 or more officer hours per two-week officer pay period will be eligible for a rebate equal to 15% of the administrative fee. The effective rates for these largest customers will be:
