NEW ORLEANS, LA—Today, the Mayor’s Office of Cultural Economy issued a filming notice to New Orleans residents.
On Wednesday, August 1, 2012, a production crew will be conducting filming in the Lower Garden District neighborhood. There will be a vehicular street closure in effect from 6pm- 12 midnight on St. Mary St. at St. Charles Ave. Pedestrians and bicycles will be allowed through this block.
During this time, traffic will also be intermittently held on Carondelet St. at St. Andrew St.
On Thursday, August 2, 2012, filming will be conducted in the 1600 block of St. Mary St. between St. Charles Ave. and Carondelet St. from approximately 8pm - 12 midnight.
The production will include the sound of a single gunshot as a movie effect.
Uniformed officers will be on hand to ensure public safety and to facilitate the production crew’s work.
Film New Orleans assists productions with the City’s permitting process, connects productions with local crew and resources, and facilitates communication between productions and the local community.
In 2011, $531 million was spent locally in the film industry during both filming and post-production, contributing significantly to the New Orleans economy by creating jobs.
