FEMA to open Disaster Recovery Centers at 4 library locations

NEW ORLEANS, LA -- Today, the City announced the opening of four FEMA Disaster Recovery Centers at New Orleans Public Library locations to assist residents affected by Hurricane Isaac.

The centers will provide recovery information and resources for residents and business owners who have experienced losses due to the recent storm.

Visitors to a disaster recovery center can meet individually with a representative to discuss their situation and to receive answers to questions, resolution to problems and referrals to agencies that may provide further assistance. The centers can also provide information financial assistance.

Federal funding is available to individuals in Orleans Parish who suffered losses as a result of the disaster. Assistance can include grants for temporary housing and home repairs, and uninsured property losses, and other programs to help individuals and households recover from the effects of the disaster.
