NEW ORLEANS, LA—Earlier today, Mayor Mitch Landrieu announced a $10,000 donation to Crimestoppers from his campaign fund to aid in the arrest and indictment of the driver of a 2011 or 2012 white Porsche Panamera suspected of hitting and killing NOPD Officer Rodney Thomas on the I-10 eastbound near the High Rise on July 7, 2013.
"I had the fortune of knowing Officer Thomas as an exceptional police officer and person,” said Mayor Mitch Landrieu. “I am donating $10,000 from my campaign towards the Crimestoppers reward for any person who steps up to give information that leads to the arrest and indictment of the hit and run driver. My thoughts and prayers continue to be with his family and fellow officers.”
When matched with Crimestoppers funds, the total reward is $15,000.
