Pyrotechnics Permit

An operational permit is required for use and handling of pyrotechnic, flame, and laser special effects materials and/or devices in the City of New Orleans. Instructions and stipulations of the permit shall be strictly adhered to. Permits are granted by the Fire Prevention Division of the New Orleans Fire Department.

To determine whether you should apply for a pyrotechnics permit online or in person, please contact the New Orleans Fire Department at (504) 658-4770. The pyrotechnics operator is also required to obtain a license. If you need a permit for a film, please visit http://www.filmneworleans.org/

Fees

  • $100.00 per display. Any modification to approved display will be deemed a new display.
  • $500.00 per season or annually.
