Mobile Vendor Permit

A Mobile Vendor permit is required for every person who wants to use the public streets, sidewalks or public places or private places of business establishments to conduct any type of business. Mobile Vendor permits are not valid within the central business district area bounded by the Mississippi River on the east, Claiborne Avenue on the west, Esplanade Avenue on the north and Howard Avenue on the south. There are a set number of Mobile Vendor permits available for any given year or season.

Restrictions

Not valid within the Central Business District area bounded by the Mississippi River on the east, Claiborne Avenue on the west, Esplanade Avenue on the north and Howard Avenue on the south.

Fees

  • Mobile Food Vendor:
    • Annual Mobile Vending permit fee (cooked food, pies, cakes): $305.25 
    • Occupational License-$150.00 
    • Mayoralty Permit-$100.25 
    • Sales Tax Deposit-$50.00 
    • Identification Card-$5.00 
  • NOFD Mobile / Temporary Vendor Permit (if preparing food on site):
    • Annual Permit: $50
    • Food Sold in Streets (fruit/vegetables sold from motor drawn cart): $305.25
    • Food Sold in Streets (fruit/vegetables sold on foot or by cart): $305.25 
    • Food Sold in Streets (candies, nuts, ice cream): $230.25 
    • Food Sold in Streets (tamales, hot dogs): $230.25 
    • Home manufactured or home grown products sold on foot: $205.25 
    • Homemade artifacts: $205.25 
    • Novelties sold on the streets (not during Mardi Gras): $255.25
