April 24, 2024 | From City of New Orleans
NEW ORLEANS — Today, Mayor LaToya Cantrell and mayors from across the nation are attending the 10th Annual African American Mayor’s Association (AAMA) Conference in Atlanta, GA, themed “10 Years of Striving Forward: Our Moment. Our Mission.”
As an active member of AAMA and a member of their Board of Trustees, the Mayor will attend a variety of meetings, panel discussions and policy sessions, including one titled, "Transformative Leadership: Building Climate Resilient & Economically Thriving Cities.” Other topics include technology & innovation, health & education and economic development.
This is an invaluable opportunity to interact and share best practices with officials and business leaders on common interests and challenges, which can then be put into practice in cities across the country.
Upon her return to the City of New Orleans, the Mayor will participate in cultural community engagements.
