NOFD Responds to Two Alarm Fire in the French Quarter

December 28, 2017

- On Thursday, December 28, 2017 at 1:21 p.m., the New Orleans Fire Department (NOFD) responded to 727 Barracks Street. The first company arrived at 1:25 p.m. and found a three-story brick framed multi-residential dwelling with smoke and fire coming from a first floor apartment. A Second Alarm was called at 1:32 p.m. for additional manpower to perform a primary and secondary search of the remaining apartments in the building.  No one was home at the time the fire. Fifteen fire companies and forty-four NOFD Operations personnel was used to bring this fire under control at 2:04 p.m. The New Orleans Emergency Medical Services (NOEMS) and Entergy New Orleans also aided in the mitigation of this incident.  There were no reported injuries and the cause of the fire is under investigation.
