Ways to Vote

Early Voting

Orleans Parish voters may vote early from 14 to 7 days prior to any scheduled election at the following locations:

  • City Hall, 1300 Perdido St., Room 1W24,  New Orleans, LA 70112
  • Algiers Courthouse, 225 Morgan St., Room 105, New Orleans, LA 70114
  • Lake Vista Community Center, 6500 Spanish Fort Blvd, New Orleans, LA 70122 (2nd Floor Meeting Room)
  • Voting Machine Warehouse, 8870 Chef Menteur Highway, New Orleans, LA 70127

All early voting locations will open be from 8:30a.m. to 6 p.m. for each day of early voting, except Sundays and state holidays.  

Early voters will need to present a Louisiana Driver's License/ ID or sign a voter affidavit.  

Vote on Election Day

Voters will need to report to their assigned polling location on Election day. The polls are open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m for Municipal and Parochial elections. During Congressional Elections, the polls operate from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. You can find your polling location by calling our office at (504) 658-8300 or by using the Louisiana polling locater  .  

Present one of the following at the polling location:

  • Louisiana Driver's license/ ID 
  •  Photo ID with a signature

Voters without the above will be asked to complete and sign an affidavit provided by the commissioner.

Vote by Mail

Request an absentee ballot by logging on to the Louisiana Portal.

Eligible participants are military and overseas voters.
