Behavioral Health Services

Behavioral Health Services seeks to deliver support services to juveniles and families residing in and around the Greater New Orleans area.  BHS offers Parenting Education for both Teens and Adults, as well as a youth Anger Management group.

Orleans Detention Alternative Program

ODAP is a pre-adjudication alternative to detention program that seeks to ensure that youth will return for court appearances and do not re-offend while under supervision.  ODAP Youth Advocates work with youth who are high need but not high risk to the community.

MELOW is a pre-adjudicatory program designed to serve as an alternative to secure detention, intervention/prevention course of action, and mentoring program for teen male status offenders and post adjudication probation teen males.  The mission of the MELOW Program is to provide additional support to at-risk youth who are involved in delinquent and/or high-risk behaviors.

NEW ORLEANS — Mayor LaToya Cantrell today joined other officials to meet with prospective job applicants and staff at the Juvenile Justice Intervention Center's first-ever Job Fair to help fill as many as 70 new positions. Mayor Cantrell also helped celebrate the unveiling of the Center's new signs after its renaming from the Youth Study Center.
