NEA Our Town Grant

Call for Proposals: National Endowment for the Arts (NEA) Our Town Grant

***The window for submitting proposals for the FY24 NEA Our Town Grant is now closed. Please check back at a later date for next year's application.***

The Mayor's Office of Cultural Economy is seeking proposals from community members and organizations for the Our Town creative placemaking grants program. Through project-based funding, Our Town grants support projects that integrate arts, culture, and design activities into efforts that strengthen communities by advancing local economic, physical, and/or social outcomes. Successful Our Town projects ultimately lay the groundwork for systems changes that sustain the integration of arts, culture, and design into local strategies for strengthening communities. Grants range from $25,000 to $150,000, with a minimum nonfederal cost share/match equal to the grant amount.

These projects require a partnership between a local government entity and a nonprofit organization, one of which must be a cultural organization; and should engage in partnership with other sectors (such as agriculture and food, economic development, education and youth, environment and energy, health, housing, public safety, transportation, and workforce development).

For Fiscal Year 2024, the NEA is particularly interested in arts, culture, or design projects that address community health or well-being, transportation or infrastructure, or climate-related challenges. View past Our Town projects that address these fields.

Please Note: This Call for Proposals is an independent process for determining which creative placemaking projects will be endorsed by the City of New Orleans for the FY24 Our Town grant program. All subsequent deadlines are separate from those put in place by the National Endowment of the Arts (NEA).

Interested applicants will receive a statement of support from the City of New Orleans to include with their final submission once two proposals have been selected. If you have questions or would like more information, please email culturaleconomygrants@nola.gov.

All applicants should consult https://www.arts.gov/grants/our-town for the full program description, application instructions, and applicant resources.
