The City Planning Commission is required under Section 5-402 of the Home Rule Charter to prepare a Capital Improvement Plan (CIP) for the City of New Orleans and to assist in the preparation of the City’s annual capital budget. The City Planning Commission will begin holding public hearings with each City agency requesting capital funds from June 24, 2016 to July 22, 2016.
In accordance with City Council Motion M-16-167, the City Planning Commission will conduct a public hearing on July 12, 2016 on how affordable housing impacts can be assessed as part of land-use and building applications in the City of New Orleans. The CPC will study and consider the use of affordable housing impact statements and recommend potential changes to the Comprehensive Zoning Ordinance and other applicable codes, if necessary.
The Master Plan amendment application period closed September 9, 2016, and applications are now posted on the CPC website.
The City Planning Commission has recommended approval of the creation of new local historic districts: Uptown, Carrollton, Mid City, and Parkview.
THE CITY PLANNING COMMISSION HEREBY ANNOUNCES THAT IT WILL HOLD PUBLIC MEETINGS TO SOLICIT THE OPINIONS OF CITIZENS RELATIVE TO CERTAIN PROPOSED AMENDMENTS TO THE CITY’S “PLAN FOR THE 21ST CENTURY,” ALSO KNOWN AS THE MASTER PLAN.
In accordance with Motion M-16-490, the City Planning Commission will conduct a public hearing and study to investigate the creation and implementation of a Smart Housing Mix Ordinance.
At its May 9, 2017, public hearing, the City Planning Commission deferred the Riverfront Overlay Study to its June 27, 2017, public hearing.
