On Thursday, April 11, 2024, the New Orleans Fire Department (NOFD) received notification that the case involving the fire deaths of three (3) children at 4911 America Street on October 18, 2023, was brought to close with the guilty plea of their father. Although this was a heinous and tragic event, we would like to recognize the New Orleans Fire Departments Fire Investigative team, ATF, Louisiana State Fire Marshall’s Office, and NOPD who worked tirelessly to determining the cause and origin of the fire, and criminal conviction of the suspect bringing justice to the victims and their family.
