Memorandum B-23-01: Short Term Rental (STR) and Bed & Breakfast properties with more than five (5) bedrooms* overall will require a building permit to change their use for compliance with the International Building Code (IBC) 2021 and require approval from the Louisiana Office of State Fire Marshal.
* Note that Short Term Rental regulations do not permit STRs to offer or advertise more than five (5) bedrooms for rent.

Applications for new Residential Short Term Rentals (RSTRs) are not being accepted currently. Some RSTRs that expired after February 25, 2020 may be eligible for renewal as a non-conforming use.
