NEW ORLEANS – TOMORROW, Saturday, Dec. 17, 2016, the City of New Orleans along with the the City of New Orleans alongside the New Orleans Pelicans, RPM Pizza, MetroPCS and PlayNOLA will conclude the thirteenth season of NOLA FOR LIFE Midnight Basketball, which provides safe recreational activity, jobs and opportunities in crime hot spots for males over 16 years old through basketball, mentorship and support.
NEW ORLEANS – On Thursday, Dec. 15, 2016, in keeping with Mayor Mitch Landrieu’s commitment to create better efficiencies in City government, the New Orleans City Council passed an ordinance to merge the City’s two public benefit corporations, the New Orleans Building Corporation (NOBC) and the Canal Street Development Corporation (CSDC). These two public benefit corporations are both charged with leasing, developing and managing real estate assets in New Orleans.

The Mid-City library has moved to the historic Automotive Life Insurance Building at 4140 Canal St. The new two-story location includes a collection of over 14,800 books, audiobooks, DVDs and CDs, as well as a larger children's room, a dedicated teen space and a Spanish-language collection.
