City Issues Reminders in Advance of Events from Dec. 7 – 9

NEW ORLEANS – Today, the City of New Orleans issued parking instructions and reminders in advance of events scheduled from Dec. 7 – 9, 2017.

Allstate Sugar Bowl LHSAA Prep Classic

Beginning at noon on Thursday, Dec. 7 through Saturday, Dec. 9, the Allstate Sugar Bowl LHSAA Prep Classic will be held at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome.

New Orleans Pelicans Game

On Friday, Dec. 9, at 7 p.m., the New Orleans Pelicans will host the Sacramento Kings at the Smoothie King Center.

Heavy vehicular and pedestrian traffic is expected along Poydras Street between Loyola Avenue and S. Claiborne Avenue and in the surrounding area throughout these events. The public is encouraged to be patient and prepared for delays by making transportation arrangements accordingly.

The New Orleans Police Department will be directing traffic, and parking enforcement personnel will be monitoring for illegal parking, including blocking hydrants, driveways and sidewalks, or parking within 20 feet of a crosswalk, intersection or stop signs. Motorists are also reminded to park in the direction of travel on one-way streets, and with the right wheel to the curb on two-way streets.
