NEW ORLEANS — The City of New Orleans’ construction contractor, Battco Construction and Maintenance, Inc., has begun maintenance and cleaning tasks on the S. Jefferson Davis Parkway overpass between Gravier Street and Drexel Drive. This work will continue to take place between the hours of 9 a.m. and 3 p.m., Monday through Friday for approximately two months.
Residents, particularly cyclists and pedestrians, should expect intermittent traffic lane closures and limited access to the bike path during tasks such as pressure washing. The project scope of work also includes repairs to roadway joints, and repairing and re-painting the overpass railings.
Battco crews began removing debris on the overpass last week. Crews will start pressure washing the river bound side of the bike path.
Public safety is our top priority; residents and commuters are reminded to use caution when driving, bicycling and walking near this construction site. Signage and traffic control measures such as barrels and fencing are onsite to direct drivers and pedestrians.
For questions and/or concerns about the project, please contact RoadWorkNOLA at 504.658.ROAD (7623) or e-mail email@example.com.
