The City of New Orleans today announced that starting Tuesday, March 12, at approximately 9 a.m., the Department of Public Works (DPW), in close coordination with the Louisiana Department of Transportation (LaDOTD), will close the westbound right lane, along the stretch of I-10 between Dumaine Street and Gravier Street.

The City of New Orleans today announced that on Saturday, March 9, the New Orleans Recreation Development (NORD) Commission will host its annual youth Summer Camp Expo from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. in five locations across the city.
The City of New Orleans today announced the Department of Public Works (DPW) contractor Barriere Construction, LLC will be performing a lane closure leading up to the entrance of the 5300 block of Painters Street beginning March 11 through March 18 to accommodate the underground utility work as part of the Gentilly Terrace Group E project. During this time, the two intersections of Painters Street at Filmore Avenue and Painters Street at Selma Street will be closed to vehicular traffic.

On March 11, 2021, President Biden signed the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) into law. The $1.9 trillion package is designed to directly combat the COVID-19 pandemic and its impacts to states and municipalities. The City of New Orleans received $388 million in ARPA funds, and as of February 2024, $245 million has been spent and another $48.5 million has been obligated, representing 76 percent of the City’s total appropriation.
