Mayor Landrieu Announces Fresh Food Retailer Initiative’s Healthy Corner Store Collaborative

NEW ORLEANS —Today, Mayor Mitch Landrieu’s Office of Economic Development, in partnership with Propeller, Top Box Foods, The Food Trust, and Liberty’s Kitchen, announced the launch of the Healthy Corner Store Collaborative, which will leverage existing infrastructure to make fresh, healthy foods more accessible to families in food deserts as well as to increase profits for store owners.

Mayor Landrieu, Robért Fresh Market Announce Return of Retailer to Bywater/Marigny

NEW ORLEANS – Today, Mayor Mitch Landrieu, City officials, representatives from Robért Fresh Market and Hope Enterprise Corporation (HOPE) announced that renovation and construction work will begin on a new, full-service grocery store and retail parcel serving in the Bywater and Marigny neighborhoods. The grocery store will employ 30 full-time and 50 part-time employees and create over 150 construction jobs.

City, StayLocal Release New Road Construction Toolkit for New Orleans Businesses

NEW ORLEANS – Today, the City of New Orleans in partnership with StayLocal, released a Road Construction Toolkit for New Orleans Businesses. The toolkit features important contact information, practical tips and technical assistance so businesses can continue to thrive during road construction. At this time, the City is gearing up a $2.4 billion capital improvement program to repair and rebuild 400 miles of roads and subsurface infrastructure.

NEW ORLEANS – Today, Mayor Mitch Landrieu joined City officials and philanthropic and small business leaders to announce the launch of the BuildNOLA Mobilization Fund, a pilot loan fund to provide contract financing and mobilization capital for local small businesses and contractors.

British Airways Announces Non-Stop Service to London from New Orleans

NEW ORLEANS – Today, British Airways announced it will begin year-round service to London from New Orleans beginning March 27, 2017. This new international non-stop flight departs four times per week from Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport (MSY) to London Heathrow (LHR). From London Heathrow, British Airways’ passengers can connect seamlessly to over 130 destinations in Europe and beyond. This announcement welcomes the Airport’s sixth international destination.

Condor Announces New Non-stop Seasonal Service Between New Orleans and Germany Beginning May 2017

NEW ORLEANS – Today, Condor, a premier leisure airline, announced it will begin seasonal service twice weekly from Frankfurt, Germany to New Orleans from May 3, 2017 to September 27, 2017. This is New Orleans’ first non-stop flight to Europe since the 1980s. The Frankfurt International Airport is a hub for Condor where passengers can seamlessly connect to more than 120 cities in the Eastern Hemisphere through Condor’s extensive network of partner airlines.

Mayor Landrieu, City Officials Celebrate Opening Cobalt Medical Development Rehabilitation Hospital in Mid-City

NEW ORLEANS — Today, Mayor Mitch Landrieu joined New Orleans City Councilmembers, New Orleans Business Alliance (NOLABA) and executives from Cobalt Medical Development to celebrate the opening of the new 66,000 square-foot Cobalt Medical Development Rehabilitation Hospital at 3701 Bienville St. in Mid-City.

Mayor Landrieu, City Officials and CVS Pharmacy Celebrate Opening of New Store in the Lower Ninth Ward

NEW ORLEANS – Today, Mayor Mitch Landrieu joined Councilmembers, City Officials and CVS Pharmacy executives to celebrate the grand opening of the new 13,000-square-foot CVS Pharmacy at 5000 N. Claiborne Ave. in the historic Lower Ninth Ward. This new CVS Pharmacy, which is the first major retailer to open in the Lower Ninth Ward since Hurricane Katrina, features drive-thru pharmacy services, a wide range of high quality health, beauty, personal care products and healthy snack options.
