Vieux Carre' Commission

Purpose
The Vieux Carre Commission preserves buildings in the Vieux Carre section of the city that have architectural and historical value and which should be preserved for the benefit of the people of the city and state.
Composition
The Mayor appoints nine members with the advice and consent of the City Council as follows:
- One from two persons recommended by the Louisiana Historical Society;
- One from two person recommended by the Louisiana State Museum Board;
- One from two persons recommended by the chamber of commerce of the city;
- Three architects from six architects recommended by the New Orleans Chapter of the American Institute of Architects; and
- Three at large.
