NEW ORLEANS — The City of New Orleans today announced the launch of the newly formed Office of Business & External Services (OBES) satellite program for residents. As part of a gradual rollout, OBES will provide residents an opportunity to do business with City Hall at select New Orleans Public Library locations.

“Providing residents more convenient access to City services is the definition of meeting people where they are. This is why we formed the Office of Business and External Services. We are committed to making it easier for residents to do business with the City, especially at a time when we are trying to fuel our economic recovery in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.”

Several library locations are offering free food for youth. All food is provided on a first-come, first-served basis.

Join the New Orleans Public Library on Tuesday, June 19th from 4pm-6pm for the grand opening of the Best Buy Teen Tech Center at the Main Library, 201 Loyola Ave. 

Main Library Closed through Sunday, May 13th for renovations. 

In its almost 60-year history, the Main Library has never received any significant renovation work, until now. The updates will primarily occur on the first floor and will include the following:

• a new layout that utilizes the space more efficiently

• new flooring

• painting

• new shelving

• additional computers

• new furniture
