Boil Water Advisory for NOLA East Bank

The Sewerage and Water Board of New Orleans, in conjunction with the Louisiana Department of Health (LDH), has lifted the precautionary boil water advisory for the East bank of Orleans Parish. Bacteriological tests confirmed that water in the area is safe to drink and can be used for personal needs.

In order to ensure public safety through compliance with the International Construction Code (ICC) as adopted by the City of New Orleans as well as all other related state and parish regulations, electricians performing work within the City of New Orleans are required to obtain and renew annually an Electrical License from the City. Electricians with ICC certifications can apply as Class D Journeyman Electricians' ($60)

Duration: Valid for one year and must be renewed annually on or before birthday.


  • Class D Journeyman Electrician $60.00 annual
  • Delinquent fee of $5.00 per month (considered to be delinquent 1st business day after birthday)

Required documents/steps

  • Complete the respective Electrical License Application
  • Must be at least 18 years of age or older
  • Present two current passport size photos
  • Copy of Driver’s License or State Identification Card and previous Electrical License card (Letter of Passing from ICC for new applicants)
